Hair Dressers
Mood:  a-ok
(Here I am, all relaxed after a good brushing.) It's a race! When the father comes home, I meow at him to brush me, then Myst comes up, wanting the same things. It's a race to see who gets to be brushed first. The father has been clipping our fur, too. Somehow, we've developed a few knots and they just grow if they are not clipped out quickly. I am glad our pets are good at grooming. (The mother gives great massages.)

Playing with Food
This week, I am going to post some older pictures of me that you may not have seen before. Many of these were taken with the mother's cell phone camera. Here, I am chasing a tasty bug. I stretched as high as I could. I had lots of fun chasing it. A cat should always play with his food.

Rocky is 3 Months Old
Mood:  happy
The mother and father went to visit my adopted nephew, Rocky, who has Jenny and Jonathan for his pets. He shares them with Lucky, a tabby cat. Rocky was born Oct. 21st and is turning into a fine, good-looking Flame Point Himalayan. He has his humans well under control with the help of his adopted brother, Lucky. They greet their pet humans when they come home each day and have already trained the humans to play with them upon demand.

Better than Sleeping
Mood:  energetic
I had been sound asleep on the sofa last night next to the mother. All of a sudden, I sprang to attention and charged across the room so fast that the mother barely had time to blink. She told the father that she had never seen me react so fast. The father said, "Muddy recognized the sound of a moth."

"O-o-o-o-o-h," the mother replied, "That explains everything!" Yes, I was chasing a big brown moth around the house. It was so fun! At one point, I lost him, so I stuck my head in the blinds to look. Being the experienced and mighty moth hunter that I am, I know these flying things head for windows. So, here I am "messing up the blinds," as the mother says. Hey, anything is worth catching a flying bug! Myst was chasing it as best as he could, too, and eventually, the father was following it with a rolled up newspaper. Nobody caught it, though the mother says it was funny to see three enthusiastic animals running around the place. The moth went into hiding somewhere and hasn't been seen since. I hope it comes back so I can chase it again. It is rare to see one this time of year.

Taking a Break
Mood:  accident prone
Myst and I just got done running up and down the hall so we stopped to take a break. We both like to sit in the bathroom doorway, but I got here first.

Later, the mother was taking a bath. Myst came up (we all get mystified about why anyone would want to sit in water) to see what the mother was doing. He started rubbing his cheek on a bottle of shampoo. Plop! It fell into the water, startling Myst. He jumped up and ran out of there. Naturally, I started chasing him and it was back up and down the hall a few times again.

Myst & Computers
Mood:  sharp
Myst likes the computer as much as I do, but for different reasons. For one, he can not jump on the desk like I can. He is little for a Persian and does not jump as well. So, when he wants up, he comes and cries at the mother until she picks him up and puts him on the desk.

Do you think he would like to type on the keyboard or keep a blog like I do? Nope! All he wants to do is sit on the keyboard and chew up the mousepad. Who can figure out children these days?!!

How to Bug the Mother
Mood:  chatty
When the mother sits down in the living room, Dandelion finds her and sits in her lap. If Dandelion is not around, Myst comes up and paws at the laser pointer until the mother plays with him, too. I don't bug her like that. If I want something, I just stand in the middle of the room and meow loudly until the mother or father comes to me. Sometimes I sit beside her to sleep, though.

Laundry Day
Mood:  a-ok
It's laundry day! I jumped up on the washer. Yay! It was open. I leaned over and stuck my head in as far as I could go. The mother thought I might fall in but I was careful.

Scratching Box
Mood:  on fire
When the mother found out that Myst liked a scratching box, she got one. She knew that Dandelion also liked cardboard things, having nearly scratched up a cardboard storage box in the garage. At first, I could have cared less. I liked the furniture just fine, even the carpet, but I changed my mind when the mother brought this home because she sprinkled catnip all over it. Now all of us cats are crazy to use it. I even fell asleep on it once.

Stop and Enjoy the Sunshine
Mood:  chillin'
When you find a patch of sunlight, it's always best to stop whatever you are doing and enjoy a little grooming and basking.

In fact, whenever I can't decide what to do such as where to go or where to find a place to sleep, I always stop and lick myself. After that, decisions are just easier to make.
